Leadership Is Everyone’s Business In 2012

I read this the other day…

“Leadership is everyone’s business. No matter what your position is, you have to take responsibility for the quality of leadership your downline gets. You are accountable for the leadership you demonstrate. The only choice you really have is whether or not to be the best leader you can be.”

It really STRUCK a CHORD with me and I must say…it’s so true because…

Not too long ago…

I witnessed a person in a position of leadership undermine themselves because they simply didn’t make the choice to be the “best leader they could be”.  They chose to subtly insert doubt into members of their team by saying things to them like “I don’t expect most of you to succeed anyway” or “you couldn’t build a business over at ABC company why do you think you can build one over there.”  They chose to make promises that they never kept, they chose to contradict themselves, they chose to send mixed messages and they chose to not honor commitments they made.

With that being said, I also saw that person’s team pretty much dissipate right before their eyes.

And ultimately, who knows why they self sabotaged.  Maybe it was because they didn’t know HOW TO be a leader, or maybe it was because they were more concerned with their own financial gain, or maybe it was because their EGO got in the way…again, who really knows!

My point in all this…

If you are in a position of leadership…remember “You are accountable for the leadership you demonstrate.”

TREAT your TEAM like the HUMAN BEINGS they are, NOT just numbers for your gain.

And when you do the former…not the later…

You will discover that what your TEAM will accomplish is SIMPLY AMAZING and…

Not only will they TREAT you, their leader, with honor and respect…

Your TEAM will help prosper your business forever and without question!

So as we get ready to enter the NEW YEAR…

Take your position of leadership seriously and…

If you’re going to ‘talk the talk’ of leadership make sure you ‘walk the walk’ because…

What you do and say will have a DIRECT IMPACT on your life as well as the lives of those you are influencing.

Good or bad…

Until next time…

Nothing but LOVE & FUN + DOWN & DIRTY!

If you’re not ready to lead with honor and respect than stand down and do something else. People are sick and tired of wanna be leaders who pretend they are, where they want to be.
Sure you will get there one day as long as you keep your goal in mind, but don’t lie to your prospects so they think they are investing in a leader who will take them there.
Shelly, anyone who uses these “military leadership” methods of breaking down in order to build them up, is doing a great disservice to other people, and will pay greatly for that.

“Military Leadership”… wow… now that’s an eye opener Lidia!

A good friend of mine explained it like this…

The “Let’s Slam ‘Em and Scam ‘Em Business Model!!”

  2. It’s sad what happened to that person but then again if they promised things and did not follow through then I guess it was karma…
In the end it’s not worth the $$ if you lose your team by stepping on everyone just so you can make it to the top all while sitting ALONE. I’d rather build a business gradually and do it with integrity.

They promised a lot of things Selena…

And justified not following through on their people…LOL

Thing is… people like that… they always get some relief from their shame by projecting it on others as blame… but late at night, insecurity always pays them a visit because they know at anytime they will be found out and it’s GONE…

And in this case… that would be correct!

  3. As Charles Kingsley said, “Do as you would be done by, or be done by as you did.”

The higher you aspire to climb, the more you need to BE what your team wants to become.

Placing dollars before people may be profitable in the short term, but the rewards are fleeting and the damage permanent.

      Funny Goddess…

My hubby said something today that reminds me of what you said…

The HIGHER up they are… the HARDER they fall.

Oh Jacqueline, I love that As Charles Kingsley said, “Do as you would be done by, or be done by as you did.”

Shelly, you are right…you gotta BE what you TEACH!

    Nicely done.

  5. You are correcto Mundo when you stated ” You are accountable for the leadership you demonstrate.” I think some people don’t take this seriously whether its in business or being the head of the boy-scouts.

But at the end of the day you have to practice and demonstrate what you preach and when you do the rest will take care of itself.

YEPPERS… King Shawn… If a person is gonna preach it and teach it… They better follow their own advice otherwise their credibility will go KAPUTS and FAST!
