Republishing? What the heck…

I was cruising the internet the other day and somehow ran across a blog by a gal named, Mavis Nong.  (I think I saw her over at BetterNetworker)

Long story short, one of her recent posts, Are You Still Republishing Your Favorite Posts From Other Blogs?, taught me a thing or two.

I mean yes, I have a blog, but I am not very versed in all this sorta stuff.

But if I can say one thing about me, I’m a good learner!

With that in mind, I am constantly learning the tricks of the trade.

So after reading her post I decided to look into ‘republishing’ because I had never heard of it before that.

Of course, my next move was to GOOGLE, (gawd I love that verb) “What is republishing content on blogs”

Low and behold, I ended up over at ProBlogger.net with a post from Darren Rowse explaining more of what it is and then directing me to another blog by
Matt Cutts “head of spam” over at Google.

What the heck?  I just got stuck in a web of information.  Very smart, I’m thinking…;)

And what I learned was that republishing is basically using another person’s content with or without permission and placing it on your blog or where ever I guess.

I’m still not exactly sure of what the purpose of that would be…

But hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day, now was it?

I’m sure I will catch on soon enough…;)

And the whole algorithm thingy, is a fancy word for instructions with rules.  I think…LOL!

Sounds good, right?
